WHY THE 'X' IN WOMXN

Dictionary.com states "noun, plural wom·xn [wim-in].a woman (used, especially in intersectional feminism, as an alternative spelling to avoid the suggestion of sexism perceived in the sequences m-a-n and m-e-n, and to be inclusive of trans and nonbinary women)

  • From Women to Womxn:

    • To be more inclusive and to provide a safe place.

    • Allows multiple gender expressions without weighing one more than the other.

    • Gender expression has historically been impacted by racism, transphobia and harmful gender binary views.

    • The importance of language and dialogue with viewpoints.
